Jorge Luis Vaca Forero
Visual Artist, Researcher, and Writer Born in Bogotá, Colombia Jorge Luis Vaca Forero is a Colombian visual artist and researcher with a strong focus on historical memory and the relationship between art and technology. A graduate of the Universidad de los Andes, with a focus on Media Arts and a master’s in Art History, he later pursued a Master’s in Electronic Arts at the National University of Tres de Febrero in Argentina. Vaca Forero’s artistic practice spans a range of media, including photography, video, and installations, exploring themes such as the construction of memory in relation to Colombia’s socio-political history. He has contributed as an associate researcher to the Documents of the 20th Century Latin
American and Latino Art Project, coordinated by the International Center for the Arts of the Americas at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. His work has been exhibited in cities like Bogotá, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Madrid, and Tokyo.
