Nadia Granados
Performance Artist and Multimedia Creator
Born in Bogotá, Colombia (1978)
Nadia Granados, known for her bold performance art, challenges conventional media representation through her use of video, performance, and experimental cinema. She explores themes such as state violence, machismo, gender violence, and media manipulation, often combining eroticism with radical political discourse. Her alter ego, La Fulminante, is central to many of her multimedia performances, utilising her body as a means of alternative communication to critique power structures and social norms.
Granados has been awarded several prestigious honours, including the XI Luis Caballero Award (2022) and the Franklin Furnace Fund (2013). Her works have been featured at international festivals and exhibitions, including the Athens International Film and Video Festival and Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. She continues to be a significant figure in the Latin American performance art scene, known for her unflinching examination of power relations through art.
