Born in Bogotá, Colombia
Santiago Cubides is a Colombian visual artist whose work focuses on the intersection of materiality and meaning. Exploring how objects convey narratives, his art delves into intellectual and sensory engagement with materials. Cubides holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he also earned a Master’s in Theory and Practice of Contemporary Plastic Arts and a Master’s in Art, Creation, and Research.
Currently represented by Galería 12:00 in Bogotá, Cubides’ work has been showcased in international exhibitions across Colombia, Spain, the UK, Japan, Italy, and Mexico. His practice is informed by a constant exploration of the transformation of matter into ideas, generating a discourse on collective thought.
